October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, and for it I created this kit that went as a collab for Twilight Scraps. Now it is a freebie for all of you :) Domestic Violence is something that involves everyone. Whether you are a survivor, a family member, or know someone who has been through it, you have been involved. This kit "Hope" goes to the lighter side of DVA, it shows the Hope, love and trust that it takes to over come the obstacles of abuse. It shows the freedom in that hope and the knowledge of being set free. My brother and I are both Survivors as was our Mom. This holds such a close part to my heart, more so than almost any other kit. As a kid, you go through so much and question so many things. You go on wondering what you did to deserve it. Not knowing it was never your fault. As an adult I still struggle with many feelings, but the brightest feeling is the one of knowing that through all of I still have my freedom. Something no one will be able to take away ever again. A very good friend of mine asked me to make a kit for Depression Awareness. I jumped right into this one, as there are so many people who suffer with Depression. I know for Kelli this is a big thing and something we've talked about for the longest time. Depression is a very real disorder, one thats looked down upon by society. And over the last few years viewed as a "fad" to be cool. But unless you've lived with it, dealt with or seen it face to face then you don't really know. If you know someone who is depressed, who is in need of help, please do all you can to help. Find the numbers for your local crisis center and help. Coming out of the dark is a kit hopefully showing that there is a lighter side to Depression. You can come out of the dark at some point and learn to live with the depression instead of letting it consume you. Another freebie for you! This time a tagger size kit :) There are 12 papers and 48 elements! I went a bit different with this one, every single paper is different and there is a good variety of elements :) This one is special to me. I know we all know someone who has lived with Breast Cancer, faught it, survived it and hoped for a miracle. My aunt was only in her early 30's when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She fought hard for 7 years and passed away at age 40. We were pretty close while I was growing up and not a day goes by that I don't miss her or think of her. Her and my mom were quite a pair I tell ya ;) Remember the best defense is early detection! If Aunt Cindy had been detected it earlier, she may have been able to move past it. Please remember to feel yourself up monthly! And remember Cancer see's no color, doesn't care if your man or woman, doesn't care what age you are. Be aware and give hope! Some of you may know Septemeber is ADHD Awareness Month. I had wanted to get this kit done sooner but with back to school and everything it kind of got put on the back burner. With that said... I made this kit in honor of my two oldest kits who both have ADHD as well as other special needs. I'm so very proud of all three of my babies, who all have Special Needs. ADHD is often looked down upon as an "excuse" used by parents and educators to why a child "behaves" a certain way. In reality its a very real disorder that effects a person in ways most of don't understand. It's not an easy "fix" disorder or something that can just snap and go away. I feel very strongly about people educating themselves about all disorders but especially this one before passing judgment on any child or adult for that matter with it. Daydreamer is a reminder of the simplicity and beuty of life and how easy it can be to just sit back and be a dreamer. Please enjoy this kit!
